Former journalist and mystery novelist (h/t Kirkus Reviews), Katz takes the view that we are expecting too much from our dogs and losing the sense of their animal nature and therefore our respect for them. They are beings outside the reach of what we can know, and he believes we do a disservice to them by imposing human thoughts and motives to their actions.
