Patronized by both professional chefs and home cooks, Kamata uses traditional methods to craft their knives, offering more than 800 different items for sale. It's also a good place to buy whetstones, which make nice gifts for any chefs in your life. The long-established shop in Kappabashi Market dates back to 1923.

Tawaramachi (Ginza line); walk west along Asakusa-dori about 5 minutes until you see the giant chef's head on top of a building; turn right and you're on Kappabashi's main shopping street; walk about 3 minutes north
